Editorial transparency

Authors

Byline, editorial responsibility and transparency standards for contributors.

Bylines and responsibility

A byline identifies the authorship recorded for a story. Editing may check sources, clarity and consistency, but it does not turn a missing attribution into a personal identity.

Expertise and conflicts

Relevant expertise should be described accurately. Any relationship that could reasonably influence content should be disclosed and assessed before publication.

Editorial and automated assistance

Research, translation or image tools may support production, but they do not receive a human byline or remove editorial responsibility. Contributor profiles and story metadata should make the recorded authorship clear, while the publisher remains responsible for the standards, corrections and publication controls applied to the site.
